Ataxia, live at The Knitting Factory, Los Angeles, 2nd February 2004

Ataxia consist of John Frusciante, his good friend Josh Klinghoffer (who also plays occasionally with the other musicians in RHCP), and Fugazi drummer Joe Lally. Two seems to be a fairly strong number for Ataxia, as they spent two weeks in the studio, recorded two albums in that time, and played two, count 'em, two concert dates (don't quote me on that mind!), although they did play several sets...so this isn't something you'll see everyday. Enjoy!

Recorded in an unknown location on an unknown date, very handy that, and sadly nowhere near a complete show. That aside, there are some rather rare tracks here. Two of the songs are unreleased John compositions, tentatively titled by fans probably, and another is a cover of Nirvana's Moist Vagina, b-side to the also snappily titled Rape Me. Enjoy!

John Frusciante - Solo performance at All Tomorrows Parties 2005

If you don't know who John Frusciante is please get the fuck off my page now, you have no business here. Ok, so we all know that although RHCP are probably at their zenith popularity-wise, they're past their best. They still play some great tunes but they do seem to have lost their edge, all that is, except John. Since coming back from his self imposed exile, where he apparantly chatted to ghosts while fucked up, he has been more creative than ever.

Johns solo material has been hit and miss, as with 99% of guitar gods gone solo, but as he's gotten clean he's released some fine work. Amongst the solo material, his day job and his work in Ataxia with his good friend Josh Klinghoffer and Joe Lally, there's many a fine moment, whether it's an acoustic ditty, balls-out rock, or guitar loops and strong swearing.
