Stone Roses - Live at De Montfort Uni

stone roses, de montfort university, soundboard, bootleg

Stone Roses, De Montfort University, Leicester, 7th December 1995

Adored for their debut self titled album while the Second Coming, delayed by their fight to be released from the contract with Silvertone, should really get more love than it does. Yes, it's Johns album in a sense, and yes he does play alot of lead guitar throughout, but sadly some who loved the poppier feel of the debut thought that it was rather overblown. That was the direction the Stone Roses were always going to take. Their very first songs had little soloing in them, and as they progressed into the band who took over, well at least the UK, they came out with songs like I Am The Resurrection and Fools Gold, both monumental songs, yet no one said they were excessive. Such is the fickle world of fame...Anyway, here's an excellent soundboard gig from the latter period, without Reni on drums, with Robbie Maddix and session keyboard player Nigel Ipinson.
